An updated Setup screen for connection problems |

The 3000 series ReplayTV units and all Panasonic Showstopper models use a 56Kbps modem to connect to the ReplayTV Service for channel guide listings. Sometimes these modems have a difficult time establishing a reliable connection to the local dial-up number. When this happens, the PVR's modem or the dial-in server's modem will drop the connection and the unit is prevented from maintaining current channel guide listing information. In the PC world, these dropped-connection problems can be addressed by instructing the modems to connect at a slower, more reliable speed. The revised Modem Settings panel allows you to specify the connection speed for ReplayTV and Showstopper units. On January 8th, 2002 the revised modem settings panel was made available to all ReplayTV and Showstopper units during the nightly connection to the ReplayTV Servce. |

These steps can be used to access the new modem speed settings.

If the Modem Settings screen does not include a "Max Connect Speed" setting, try forcing a connection to the ReplayTV Service by performing the following steps from the Setup Summary screen.
